The afternoon started with Olivia Johnston and Amali Torney finishing 3rd & 4th in the U14 Women’s event, Gretta Ashley then followed up with a 4th place finish in the U16 Women’s 6km with Rosie Hunt finding a 6th place in the U18’s to round out the junior Women’s results.
In the junior men, Mitchell Korosec stormed to a massive 1st place finish in the Mens U14 finishing the 6km course in 21:34 minutes! Archie Grant then followed up with a 3rd place finish on the Lake. The U14 Men was strongly Ballarat represented with Tom Goodson, Luke Irvin, Lachlan Anderson and James Hinde all finishing the course in impressive times. In the U16 Men Oliver Grant, Cody Torney and Ardithya Shaktivel finished the course. The U18 Men had plenty of Ballarat Reprsentation with Ben Mornane finishing 3rd in a strong field just over the 20 minute mark with Charles Chandler in 4th. Others finishing the course include Jacob Cheesman, James Childs, Kody Taggart, Zac Grainger, Scott Peart and Dayne Schnyder. In the U20 Men, Isaac Rossato had a 3rd place finish with Hugh Ollerenshaw and Samuel Pearse inside the top 10.
In the Open Category, Samuel Rizzo took 1st place in the Wheelchair finishing the 15km in 35:30 minutes. For the Open Women, Karla Treweek was the fastest Ballarat finishing 14th in a time of 57:11 minutes closely followed by Claire Johnson in 57:51 minutes. In the Open Men, Will Ford and Nic Van Raaphorst were the fastest Ballarat region both finishing inside the top 50 places
In the team results, Women U14 and Men U14 both had 1st place finishes with a second Ballarat region team finishing 2nd in the U14 Men. Men U16 finishes 2nd while the two Ballarat Region U18 teams finished 1st and 2nd for the day. The Men U20 also had a 1st place finish. In the Open Categories, OPEN Men finished 7th while OPEN Women finished 3rd in the premier division which is one of their best results for the season. Women’s 40+ also got a 1st place finish on the day
