Victorian Masters Championships 2024
Ballarat athletes were in full flight over the weekend at the Victorian Masters Championships at Doncaster! Ballarat had 8 athletes compete across the two day event with medals galore in the ranks.
Emma Werner continued her fine season with three gold medals in the Women’s 30-34 Hammer, Shot Put & Weight Throw. Caitlin Christie also in the Women’s 30-34 came away with gold in the High Jump.
Kim Gleeson finished with 5 silver medals in the Women’s 40-44 category while Prue Orchard followed with 3 silver medals in the Women’s 45-49 category. Pauline Graham in the 50-54 category also had 2 bronze medals in the Discus and Hammer
For the Men, Leon Whitehand in the 55-59 age group saw 2 gold among 5 placing in Discus, Hammer, Javelin, Long Jump and Shot Put. Chris Lang then followed up with a gold and silver in the 60-64 age category
To cap off, Steve McCulloch had a 4th place finish in the 50-54 Men 60m dash.
