The Ballarat Regional Athletic Centre run their Cross-Country awards evening last Saturday with individual athletes and club rewarded for their performance this past Cross-Country season.

As in previous years, the championship athlete from each age group is given to the athletes who scores the most points across the season. Each athlete is given a score based on their placing in key events across the season including Charles Suffren, Lap of the Lake, Wal Brown, AV XCR R2 St Anne’s Winery, AV XCR R7 Lakeside:10 and AV Ballarat XCR R8 events.

In the OPEN Men’s category, it was Nic Van Raaphorst who took the trophy after competing in every event across the year. Van Raaphorst had top 3 finishes at Wal Brown, St Anne’s Winery, Lakeside:10km and Ballarat XCR throughout the year. In the OPEN Women’s, it was Karla Treweek who took home the trophy after 1^st place finishes at Lap of the Lake, St Anne’s Winery, Lakeside:10km and Ballarat XCR.

For the Clubs events, Ballarat YCW enjoyed victory across both A, B & C Grade Men & Women’s Championships while the juniors saw varied results in tight competition.
