How to access Llanberris Reserve
Llanberris Reserve is a closed facility, but we welcome all participants to purchase a membership to access the centre for training purposes. The money BRAC earns from entry goes back into the facility to improve equipment and maintenance.
Llanberris Athletics Reserve has a gate card system for access, to purchase a initial card you can head to Intersport Ballarat and ask for a Llanberris Access Card which will cost $15. Once there, you can then place a monetary balance on the card for access, each access to Llanberris costs $1 which will be subtracted off the balance on the card. Llanberris Reserve is accessible 24/7 with the access card with no time limits per visits and you can find the turnstile for access near the York Street carpark.
During competitions the gates are open, and you will NOT need to use your card to enter
Why is the facility locked?
Athletics tracks are expensive to build and maintain which is why extra security is needed to protect them. The facility is closed to protect the track and ensure only members who want to enter the track to train are able to enter and enjoy the facilities. The revenue earned from the gate cards are also used to invest back into facility which is why BRAC has been able to purchase equipment like the improved permanent hammer cage, pole vault mat and ongoing track maintenance/cleaning.
What Facilities are at Llanberris Reserve
he Ballarat facilities is one of the main regional athletics track in Victoria with facilities for everyone
- 10 Lane front and back straight (9 lanes around the track)
- 4 Steeplechase jumps (1 permanent built in waterjump)
- 4 Long Jump pits (2 open for training at all times)
- 2 Shot Put Rings
- 1 Permanent Hammer Cage (Speak with management prior if you are planning a training session)
- 1 High Jump (Speak with management prior if you are planning a training session)
- Pole Vault Mat and equipment
BRAC also have other equipment including extra high jump mats, shotputs/discus/javelins and timing equipment that can be made available to schools and larger groups on requests. These extras must be discussed with BRAC prior to an event.
