Athletics Victoria XCR R5 Debrief

Round 5 of Athletics Victoria XCR season was conducted at Sandown Racecourse with Ballarat Region Juniors competing strong in the Road Relays

The Ballarat region got off to a terrific start at XCR R5 with the U14 Women and Men relay teams taking out first place! The Women team made up of Aria Violini, Amali Torney and Olivia Johnston finished strong for first place while the Men’s team made of Mitchell Koresec, Lachlan Anderson and Levi Hynes continued their strong relay presence with a first.

The placings continued in the Juniors with the U16 Women’s team made up of Rose Ashman, Lucy Goodson and Gretta Ashley stormed home to win by 1 second! The U18 & U20 Men teams finished 2nd on the day with a second U18 Men team finishing 7th capping an impressive day for Ballarat Region Juniors.

In the senior grades, Men’s Premier Division finished 9th while Women’s Premier Division finished 8th in strong fields. The Women’s 40+ category faired well to finish second over the 18.6km course with the Men’s 50+ ending up in 12th place in a large field.
