The annual BRAC Wal Brown 8km event was this year relocated to Vic Park and conducted on Saturday 13th May in clear weather! A positive turnout for the event saw plenty of happy faces with junior dash followed by the 4km event leading into the 8km long course.

Ballarat YCW had a great day with championships wins in the Women’s A Grade, U18 & U16 categories along with Mens 50+ & U18. Wendouree performed strongly with a Mens U18 and Women’s 40+ trophy. Eureka then took out the Men’s A Grade along with U14 men’s awards.
YCW athlete Cooper Tuddenham took out the individual 2km event while fellow YCW athlete Levi Hynes took out the 4km race in a time of 14.25 minutes. Daisy Sudholz was the 1st female over the line in 14.48 minutes with 37 participants taking on the 4km course at Vic Park
In the 8km course, Eureka’s Benjamin Stevens finished in 26.37 minutes to take 1st place from Ben Mornane and Josh Hawkes with David Grigg in 6th place the first 40+ athlete over the line. In the Women’s, Eliza Lepair came across in 29.23 minutes to continue her dominant season with Sara Tucker and Claire Johnson also on the podium.
The next BRAC event will be the annual Lap of the Lake on Saturday June 3rd!
