Ballarat athletes produce big results in windy Perth

Australian All Schools Debrief 2023

Ballarat athletes once again showed their ability to compete with the best in the country with a positive showing at the Australian All Schools Championships in Perth. The wind was out in force for Day 1 with 7 of the 9 Ballarat athletes selected on the track showcasing their skills.

The day started with Summer Jenkins in the Pole Vault, she cleared 2.40M before bowing out in 6th place. Wendouree star Mackayla Culvenor leaped a huge 5.90M to win the silver medal in the Women’s U16 Long Jump. Molly Fraser then made it a 2nd silver medal in the Women’s U18 Triple Jump event clearing 12.08M.

In the sprints, Maclenzie Estlick just missed out on the final of the Women’s U16 200m while Grace Kelly finished 4th in the Women’s U18 100m final. Ballarat Armani Anderson speed out of the blocks to claim the Gold Medal in the Women’s U17 100m with a very quick time of 11.84s! Racewalker Scott Peart finished the day with a bronze medal in the 5000m race-walk.

On Day 2 it was Molly Fraser that flipped the result from the day before to claim gold in the Women’s U18 Long Jump event jumping 5.65M! Sprinters Grace Crowe and Mackenzie Estlick then joined the Victorian 4X100m relay team to finish 3rd with a bronze medal to take home

On Day 3 it was Mackenzie Estlick and Grace Crowe who made the final of the Women’s U16 100m event before just falling short of a medal. Ella Culvenor then finished the day n the Women s U15 Tripel jump with a 10.22M leap into 8th place.
