The records are a special piece of history for the centre and showcase the best athletics performance in all events and age groups. Each year, the records continue to be broken as athletes continuing to improve on their talents.

AVSL Round 1-3 2022-23 Records

Explanation 

Ballarat records can only be claimed by first-claim registered Ballarat athletes competing at Llanberris Reserve. This includes Shield competition and any other official event (eg. Victorian Country Championships) conducted by Athletics Australia, Athletics Victoria or the Ballarat Regional Centre. Ballarat All Time Records, along with Victorian Country and Victorian records may be claimed anywhere provided the meeting is conducted by registered officials.

The age calculation is taken as the athlete’s age on the day in which the record performance was achieved.

To be accepted as a record, all Track performances up to and including 800m must be timed by an approved Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.) device.

In an event where the photo finish is not in operation, to claim a record an athlete or team competing in a track event of 1000m or over, must have three (3) timekeepers, including at least one qualified AV / AA timekeeper. The official timekeepers must show all three (3) hand times on the recording sheet, with the middle time taken as the official result.

The wind gauge must be operated by a competent operator to claim a record in the following events: 100m, 200m, 80mH, 90mH, 100mH, 110mH, 200mH, Long jump, Triple jump. If the wind velocity measured in the direction of running or jumping behind the athlete averages more than 2 metres per second, the record will not be accepted.

Lap score sheets for 3000m and above must be signed off.

In all Walk events, there must be four (4) competent walk judges appointed.
