What is the program?

This Girl Can – Victoria celebrates and supports Victorian women to embrace physical activity in a way that suits you. Whether it’s a little or a lot, what matters is getting some movement into your day. The program encourages women to participate in physical activity through programs with Sport. City of Ballarat are hosting a This Girl Can week to encourage all women in the Ballarat area to engage.

Why Athletics?

Athletics is one of the oldest and most inclusive sports with hundreds of clubs and centres around the state. Athletics is about trying your best individually within a team environment, being cheered on by your clubs and friends. Athletics in Ballarat is growing, and athletics is embedded in the history of the town. We invite everyone to come and try athletics and engage in the friendly environment while enjoying exercise and reaching your best potential.

Guest Speaker – Emma Werner

Ballarat Athlete Emma Werner will attend and discuss her experience as an athlete and her journey through athletics. Emma is a current top-level athlete within the Hammer Throw and has competed in Ballarat throughout her life. She will discuss the benefits of exercise while in school and continuing the sport through adulthood. She will hold a presentation or speech for the attendees during an afternoon tea break and will be available for questions.
